The risk of Nematodirus is now tailing off for this years lamb crop but Strongyle counts will be rising steadily, especially in lambs on permanent pasture.  Instead of waiting for lambs to scour, it is well worth doing a worm egg count. Several fresh pellets from 6-10 different lambs is all we need to run a pooled sample, which will tell you if you need to worm now to avoid a check in daily live weight gain, or if you can hold off and re sample in 4-6wks time. FEC cost £10 + VAT per sample
